Our Dojo Black Belts

David Mostofizadeh

David started Karate in 2005 when he was just 5 yrs old.

David trained for four years under his father Sensei Hamid.

In 2009 he had the privilege to meet the late Shihan Kanaya Sensei, training for 2 years under him with siblings Daria and Dustin before his passing away in 2011.

David obtained the rank of Shodan in April 2010 and the rank of Nidan in June 2012 Shuseki Shihan Kagawa.

David accomplished the rank of Sandan in October 2019 under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai.

In November 2022, David attained the rank of Yondan under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and his father Sensei Hamid.

David has competed in numerous Local, State, National and International championships from 2005 – 2017.

David has enjoyed the privilege of representing Queensland at the Australian National Championships from 2013-2017 and representing Australia at International Championships numerous times from 2013 onwards.

These competitions included the Sydney Internationals, Melbourne Internationals, Australian Open, New Zealand Open, Commonwealth Karate Championships and many of the QLD State Championships since 2012.

David’s major results included:

  • Silver (2nd place) Team Kata at the New Zealand Open April 2013
  • 5th place in Kumite at the WKF 7th Commonwealth Karate Championships in Montreal, Canada October 2013
  • Bronze ( 3rd place) Team Kata at the AKF Australian National Championships Auguste 2014
  • Bronze ( 3rd place) in Kumite at the AKF Australian National Championships Auguste 2016

David

Daria Mostofizadeh

Daria started Karate in 2006 at the age of 4 yrs.

Daria trained for four years under her father Sensei Hamid.

Like her brother David, Daria was fortunate enough to meet and train under the late Shihan Kanaya Sensei. Shihan Kanaya instructed Daria like her brothers Dustin and David for 2 years before his passing away in 2011.

Daria obtained the rank of Shodan in March 2011 and achieved her Nidan rank in June 2012 Shuseki Shihan Kagawa.

In October 2019, Daria attained the rank of Sandan under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai.

In November 2022, Daria accomplished the rank of Yondan under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and her father Sensei Hamid.

Daria has competed in numerous Local, State, National and International championships from 2005 – 2017.
She has enjoyed the privilege of representing Queensland at the Australian

National Championships from 2013-2017 and representing Australia at International Championships numerous times from 2013 onwards.

Dustin Mostofizadeh

Dustin started karate in 2009 at the age of five.

Like David and Daria, Dustin had the honour of meeting Shihan Kanaya Sensei and training under his guidance for 2 years, before his death in 2011.

Dustin has competed at Local, State, National and International competitions from 2011. He has represented Queensland at the National Championships annually since 2013 and has represented Australia at International competitions, including OKF Oceania Cup in 2016.

Dustin obtained the rank of Shodan in June 2013 and the rank of Nidan in December 2014 under Shuseki Shihan Kagawa.

Dustin achieved the rank of Sandan in October 2019 under Sensei Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai.

In November 2022, Dustin attained the rank of Yondan under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and her father Sensei Hamid.

Dr Johanna Mostofizadeh

Johanna obtained the rank of Shodan in 2015 under Sensei Hamid and Nidan in 2019 under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai.

In November 2021, Johanna attained her Sandan under Sensei Hamid, approved by Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai, who was unable to attend due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Delara Mostofizadeh

Delara started karate in 2011 at the age of five.

Delara obtained the rank of Shodan in April 2018 and the rank of Nidan in October 2019 under Sensei Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai.

In November 2021, Delara accomplish her Sandan under Sensei Hamid, approved by Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai, who unfortunately couldn’t be there due to COVID-19.

Delara has competed at Local, State, National from 2014. Delara has represented Queensland at the National Championships annually since 2014.

Delara’s major result’s includes:

Diba Mostofizadeh

Diba started karate in 2014 at the age of five.

She obtained the rank of Shodan in October 2019 under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and accomplishing her Nidan in November 2021 under Sensei Hamid, approved by Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai, who was unable to attend due to COVID-19.

Diba attained her Sandan under Shuseki Shihan Woon A Tai in November 2023.

Diba has competed at Local, State and National. Diba has represented Queensland at the National Championships annually since 2017.

Diba’s major result’s include:

  • Gold (1st place) in kumite at the QKA Queensland State Championships 2017 in Brisbane

Diba

Damine Mostofizadeh

Damine started karate in 2015 at the age of five.

Damine obtained the rank of Shodan in October 2020 and in November 2021 achieved her Nidan under Sensei Hamid.

Damine attained her Sandan under Shuseki Shihan Woon A Tai in November 2023.

For Damine it was the first time in 2018 that she gained selection for the Queensland Karate State Team. She was only eight years old and held a fifth kyu ( blue belt ) at the time. She trained very hard to gain selection, and was very much looking forward to represent Queensland at the AKF National Karate Championships in Caloundra August 2018 but unfortunately suffered a knee injury just before the competition and consequently had to withdraw.

Damine has placed in:

  • Bronze (3rd Place) in Kata at the QKA Queensland State Championships 17th-18th March
  • Silver (2nd Place) in Kata at the QKA Queensland Cup February 2021
  • Silver (2nd place) in Kumite at the QKA Queensland Cup February 2021

Damine

Terry Belford

Terry has previous experience with karate and trained with several karate and MMA clubs as a young man. He trained with Sensei Hamid in 2016-2018 in his previous organisation at JKS-Australia. Terry took a break in 2018 and joined sensei Hamid under his new organisation IKD- Australia in March 2019.
Terry graded to Shodan in November 2021 under Sensei Hamid.
In November 2022, Terry attained the rank of Ni-dan under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and Sensei Hamid.

Zac Belford

Zac started his IKD-Australia journey at age 5 and joined IKD-Australia in 2019 and achieved his Shodan in November 2023 under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and Shian Hamid.
Zac has competed in multiple regional, state and national Karate competitions during his time at IKD-Australia and has obtained some great results including:

Dana Mostofizadeh

Dana started his IKD-Australia journey at age 4,5 and joined IKD-Australia in 2018 and achieved her Shodan in November 2023 under Shuseki Shihan Woon-A-Tai and Shian Hamid.
