PlayOn Funding

PlayOn Funding to help kids participate

PlayOn vouchers now open!

We are an organisation previously registered for FairPlay Vouchers. There have been a few changes to the voucher program with the release of Queensland Government's new sport and active recreation strategy - Activate! Queensland 2019-2029.

Activate! Queensland is the new strategy to ensure physical activity can be prioritised in the lives of all Queenslanders, providing quality infrastructure and increasing opportunities to participate and collaborate in local communities where it is needed most.

Over the next 10 years, Activate! Queensland will assist individuals and communities to address the barriers that prevent or limit participation. The strategy aims to achieve lifelong participation through improving physical literacy in the early years and promoting more opportunities to be physically active within communities.

PlayOn vouchers is one of the initiatives of Activate! Queensland. PlayOn Sports Vouchers replaces the program formerly known as FairPlay Vouchers.

PlayOn vouchers open now

What is the program about?
Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $200 goes live for families and their child or young person on Monday 4 August 2025, which can be used towards membership, registration or participation fees with registered Activity Providers.

There is a limit of one voucher per child/young person per calendar year. The vouchers will be provided over two rounds, for summer or winter sports. If a child received a voucher in summer Round of PlayOn Voucher's they will not be eligible for another voucher until winter Round of PlayOn vouchers.

Who is eligible to apply?
Eligible applicants are Queensland children and young people aged 5 to 17 (inclusive) who either:

  • hold or whose parent/carer/guardian holds a valid Department of Human Services Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it; or
  • are identified by a registered referral agent; or
  • as part of a limited trial, families with a combined household annual income of less than $55,000, who do not hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, can register an expression of interest for a PlayOn voucher from 4 August 2025.

Other than that, nothing has really changed for those who were previously registered.

Activity Providers can apply for registration for PlayOn vouchers at any time. Registration is valid for the entire program period so there is no need to register for each round. For more information on how Activity Providers register for the program please visit the website.
