Congratulations to all IKD competitors:
Daria, Delara, Diba, Jethro, Damine and James represented IKD Australia at the QKA Queensland State Championships in Brisbane on Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th of March 2022.
They had a great karate experience and displayed exemplary sportsmanship. Their persistent training and effort paid off and they came home with a swag of medals and some outstanding results:
Daria: 2 gold medals in kumite and 2 bronze medals in Kata. We have a State champion! Congrats Daria! We are all very proud of you!
Delara: 1 silver medal in kumite and 1 silver medal in Kata. Solid work Delara, as always, well done!
Jethro: 1 silver medal in kumite. Wow! What a great result Jethro! You fought so hard and your consistent training and effort rewarded you today. Vey well done.
Diba: 1 silver medal in kumite. Diba, you fought like a lion and you never give up. Job well done.
James: 2 bronze medals in kumite. What a fight, James! You were fearless and conquered. Keep up the hard work!
After a few years without competition due to a knee injury, Damine returned to compete again and fought hard but unfortunately just missed out on a podium result.
Well done to all six of you for your great spirit and sportsmanship! You all made me very proud.
David, Daria and for the first time Dustin worked as referees and judges. A big well done to you guys! I loved to see that you applied a fair and solid judgement without bias.
A very big thank you also to our awesome IKD supporters, Terry, Zac, Rachel, Melissa, Robert and Ben for coming all the way down from Gympie to support our competitors!
