The first tournament of 2024 was the Queensland Cup, which was held on Sunday 18 February 2024 in Brisbane/Cleveland. The Weekend was a great success for our 7 IKD-Australia members at the Queensland Cup! The day started off with our young fighters Dana and Zac.
Well done to Zac for winning 3 gold medals in his kata, kumite +38kgs and kumite -38kgs.
Congratulations also to Dana for her silver in kata and bronze in kumite.
Brittney and Jake’s divisions were at midday, and both fought incredibly hard to earn their medals.
Brittney achieved two bronze medals and Jake achieved a bronze medal.
Diba won two bronze medals in her Kata and kumite divisions and
Delara won 2 gold medals in Kata and Kumite.
Damine was also competing again in Kata with a close loss in her first-round match.
Great work everyone! You have done yourself, our club and the Gympie region very proud.
