Five IKD- members participated at the Queensland State Championships gained selection into the Queensland Karate State Team this year. David, Daria, Dustin, Delara and Diba will travel to Sydney in August to represent Queensland at the National Karate Championships.
For Diba it is the first time that she gained selection for the Karate State Team. Diba is only eight years old and holds a fifth kyu ( blue belt ) in karate, but she trained very hard to gain selection, won the gold medal in her division at the Queensland State Championships in Brisbane earlier this year and won the silver medal at the Australian Open Championships held in April in Sydney.
David, Daria, Dustin and Delara are Karate State Team members for several years. They are looking forward to the challenge again and aim to defend their titles or to improve their results.
Daria will also compete at the 10th World Youth Karate Cup and Training camp in Croatia on the 1./2. of July. She will represent her style and her country. She placed fifth at the World Youth Karate Cup last year and is looking forward to the challenge again. We wish her best of luck, a great trip and foremost a fantastic karate experience!
