4 IKD- Australia members David, Daria, Dustin, and Delara participated at the National Karate Championships in Melbourne.
They trained hard to gain selection for the Queensland Karate Team. Their dedication and effort brought them to the Nationals in Melbourne and they all represented their States with pride and passion.
Daria, who had already brought home in May the gold medal from the Oceania Cup in New Caledonia, then represented Australia at the World Karate Youth Cup in Croatia in July ( a massive tournament with over 1140 entries) and placed 5th.
Now Daria came home from the National Titles in Melbourne with a swag of medals: She won gold in team kata, silver in her weight division in kumite and again silver in the kumite open weight division ( all weight divisions together). For her the Nationals in Melbourne were the perfect preparation for her next encounter at the Oceania Championships in Noumea from 16.-18.9.16, where she will represent Australia again.
David fought amazingly well at the Nationals and placed third in kumite, bringing home the bronze medal.
Dustin and Delara represented their state very well, but couldn’t achieve medals this time.
Chiefinstructor of IKD Australia Hamid Mostofizadeh is very proud of his student’s and their high achievements, their hard work has really paid off. Here you can see outstanding result due to diligent work and training and a persistent effort from his students. Well done everyone! Keep up the good work.
The swag of medals was a great start for IKD Australia.
