Australian National Championships in Caloundra/Queensland 3rd, 4th & 5th August 2018

Six IKD- members participated at the Queensland State Championships gained selection into the Queensland Karate State Team this year. Daria, Dustin, Delara, Diba, Damine and Jethro will travel to Caloundra in August to represent Queensland at the National Karate Championships.

For Damine it is the first time that she gained selection for the Karate State Team. Damine was only eight years old and holds a fifth kyu ( blue belt ) in karate, she trained very hard to gain selection, but unfortunately Damine suffered a knee injury before the competition and had to withdraw from the National Championships, Caloundra, August 2018.

What a fantastic weekend we had!
The five IKD- members got 3 medals all up for our state this year.

Daria won silver in her induvidual kumite division and bronze in team Kumite.

Delara was amazing and became the 2018 national champion in her kumite division.

Jethro, Diba and Dustin fought well unfortinatly  just missing out on a third place in their divisions.
Well done to our athletes for bringing it home once again!

It was great to catch up with all our karate families and friends!  special thank you goes to our karate friends from Noosa and Brisbane for your unwavering support and for always believing in us!
