Our four IKD-Australia members James, Jethro, Delara and Dustin travelled to Rockhampton as part of the QLD karate team and competed at the Australian National Championships.
Friday 5th of August day 1 of the AKF National Championships James and Delara were the first to compete on Day 1. James made it to the round of 16 with some nice katas and Delara was the only Queensland competitor to reach the quarterfinals!
Congratulations to Delara for placing 2nd in Kumite!
Saturday 6thof August day 2 of the AKF National Championships
James, Jethro and Dustin competed on day two.
James competed in his kumite division and whilst putting up a great fight, he narrowly missed out in a place in the final rounds.
Jethro also fought well but just missed out on the bronze medal. It was a great effort against some tough opponents.
Well done to Dustin, who earned a bronze medal in his Kumite events.
You have all done a fantastic job at representing IKD Karate Australia!
Sunday 7thof August day 3 of the AKF National Championships

Well done Delara!
Congratulations to David for his successful upgrade as a national referee.
