IKD-Australia is very proud of Daria, who gained National Team selection for the WKF Training Camp and Youth Cup in Umag/ Croatia from 27.6.-3.7.16.
She had a fantastic experience and performed very well in kata and kumite. She didn’t achieve a podium result but placed 5th in kumite.
Here are Daria’s achievements at international competitions:
At the 6th Commonwealth Karate Championships in Sydney In July 2011 Australia Daria won a bronze medal in kata. It was her first international competition.
At the New Zealand Open Karate Championships in April 2013 Daria won three silver medals, one in kata, one in kumite and one in team kata ( with her brothers David and Dustin).
At the 7th Commonwealth Karate Championships in Montreal/ Canada in October 2013, Daria won 2 gold medals, one in kata and one in kumite.
At the Oceania training camp and Oceania Cup in Noumea/ New Caledonia in May 2016 Daria won a gold medal in kata.
At the WKF Training Camp and Youth Cup in Umag/ Croatia from 27.6.-3.7.16 Daria came 5th in kumite.
I am very proud of our young athlete! Her hard work has really paid off. Well done Daria and keep up the good work!!!
On her way Daria had the pleasure to meet some karate legends, world champions and karate heroes like: Christina Mah, Rika Usami, Luca Valdesi, Rafael Aghayev, Douglas Brose, Predrag Stojadinov and Davide Benetello.
