Karate Against Bullying — Bullying No Way Week 2026
17–21 August 2026
IKD Australia is proud to support Karate Australia’s Karate Against Bullying initiative during Bullying No Way Week, 17–21 August 2026.
Traditional Shotokan Karate is about much more than physical training. Through regular practice, students are encouraged to develop the personal qualities that help them become confident, respectful and responsible members of the community.
At IKD Australia, we place particular importance on helping children and young people develop:
- Respect — treating others with dignity and understanding.
- Confidence — believing in themselves and their ability to learn and improve.
- Courage — standing up for themselves and others when something is not right.
- Inclusion — accepting and supporting others regardless of differences.
- Self-control — learning to manage emotions and actions and make positive choices.
For some young people, confidence does not come easily. Karate provides a supportive environment where students can gradually overcome shyness, fear of being judged and uncertainty about themselves. With regular training, encouragement and positive role models, students can develop greater self-belief and resilience.
Our mission, “Breaking the cycle of crime and violence through the discipline of karate,” reflects our belief that traditional martial arts can contribute to safer, healthier and more connected communities.
IKD Australia stands together with the Australian karate community against bullying.
BULLYING. NO WAY.
Respect • Confidence • Courage • Inclusion • Self-Control
