Delara has continued her karate journey by representing IKD Australia at the 2026 Australian National Karate Championships, held at MyState Bank Arena in Glenorchy, Hobart, Tasmania, from 10–12 July 2026.
Her participation at national level is another step in a karate journey that began when she was just five years old.
A Journey Built Over Many Years
Delara began karate in 2011 and has continued to develop through many years of training and competition.
She achieved Shodan (1st Dan) in 2018, followed by Nidan in 2019, Sandan in 2021, and Yondan (4th Dan) in November 2025.
She has represented Queensland at the National Championships since 2014, building considerable experience in both Kata and Kumite.
Her competition record includes national, Queensland and Oceania achievements, including Australian National Championship Gold, Australian Open medals and an Oceania Championship Bronze.
Competing at the 2026 Nationals
At the 2026 Australian National Karate Championships, Delara competed in:
- U21 Female Kumite
- Senior Kumite
Her continued participation at this level reflects the commitment required to remain active in competitive karate while continuing her development as a senior athlete.
An Example for the Next Generation
Delara’s story is about more than individual competitions.
Her journey shows our younger students that karate is a long-term path. A student begins with the basics, progresses through the grades, gains experience through training and competition, and continues developing year after year.
From starting karate at five years old to competing at national level, Delara’s journey is an example of what can grow from dedication, perseverance and commitment to training.
Every student begins somewhere.
Every grade is a step forward.
Every journey takes commitment.
Congratulations, Delara
IKD Australia congratulates Delara on her continued commitment to traditional Shotokan karate and on representing IKD Australia at the 2026 Australian National Karate Championships.
We look forward to seeing where her karate journey takes her next.
OSU!
