Get Started – Funding to help kids participate
Get Started: A voucher of up to $150 is available for eligible youth aged 5–18 who cannot afford to be part of a sport or recreation club. You can use the voucher at a club registered with the Get Started Program. Get Started assists children and young people who can least afford or may otherwise benefit from joining a sport or recreation club.
Eligible children and young people are provided with a voucher of up to $150 to help pay for club membership and/or participation fees. The vouchers can be redeemed at a sport or recreation club registered with the program.

Round 11 opens for voucher applications 24 January 2018.
- Vouchers applications close 11 May 2018 or earlier if all available vouchers are allocated.
All eligible children and young people in receipt of a voucher in 2018 are eligible to reapply for a voucher in 2018.
You need a QGrants account to apply for a voucher. You must use your personal email address and personal QGrants account to apply for a voucher. If a club’s or friend’s QGrants account is used, the club will not be able to redeem the voucher.
You can register for a QGrants account at any time. If you do not already have a QGrants account, we encourage you to register for an account prior to the next voucher release in early 2018.
Round 11 opens at 10am on Wednesday 24 January 2018.

What funding is available?
A maximum of $150 per voucher is available to help pay
the cost of sport or recreation membership and/or participation fees1.
Who can apply?
Children and young people from the age of five and under the age of 18 who are residents of Queensland and:
- hold or whose parent, guardian or carer holds a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card
- Other children or young people identified by two referral agents
*The eligibility criteria are applied at the time of application.
IKD-Australia invites you to participate in this Come and Try Day activity for the Get Started Program. The IKD-Australia began a new strategic initiative targeted at supporting the community/ youth through sport and recreation. The Possibility Program will launch in 2014 and provide ongoing support to the community. Therefore the Possibility Program is having a free Come and Try Day for anyone who wants to enjoy sport, especially karate.
The Come and Try Day will be totally free and includes a range of sport to try, eg. karate, tennis and swimming. There will also be the opportunity to link in with the program on a permanent basis. The aim of the Come & Try Day is also for people to have fun, meet new people and learn more about the program.
